Doughnut Slinger

Doughnut slingers are on the front line of providing doughnut happiness. Doughnut slingers should be friendly, helpful and efficient, and are responsible for packaging doughnuts as customers request them in person, via phone or website order, Skip the Dishes or Door Dash. Slingers are also responsible for accepting payment, making coffee, stocking boxes and drinks, and cleaning, sometimes all at once. So the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask is extremely important. Previous experience working in a cafe setting highly favourable. Part or full time positions available to start immediately. Hours may be split between both shops (when Broadway reopens this Spring). Starting wage between $16.30 and $16.75 depending on experience. Successful applicants can join our benefit plan after 3 months (must work a min of 20 hours/week). All staff receive a portion of the daily tips.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications/qualities:
-Previous customer service experience, preferably in a cafe or bakery setting;
-Strong multitasking skills;
-Attention to detail and the ability to retain and recall information;
-Great customer service and communication skills;
-Organized;
-Able to deviate from customer service ‘script’;
-Ability to work under pressure as well posses initiative to keep busy during slower times;
-Experience handling cash and debit transactions;
-Loves (or strongly likes) doughnuts;
-Fun and positive attitude, super friendly;
-Reliable, dependable, respectful and accepting of diversity;

Overnight Doughnut Artisan

Overnight Doughnut Artisans work through the night to make the dough that serves as the base for our delectable doughnuts. Overnight Doughnut Artisans are responsible for making yeast and gluten friendly dough batches according to daily production lists and making adjustments based on kitchen conditions; cutting the dough into either filled, ring or fritter/cinnamon bun forms; monitoring the doughnut proofer to ensure the dough is properly risen; cleaning/dishes as required; refilling ingredient containers; and cleaning as required. One full-time position (min ~32 hours/week) and one part-time position (possibly transitioning into or close to full time, min 20-30 hours/week) available to start at our Taylor location immediately. Starting wages range from $17.50-$18.50/hour depending on experience. Numerous wage rate increases possible based on performance after first 3 months of employment. Successful applicants can join our benefit plan after 3 months (must work a min of 20 hours/week). All staff receive a portion of the daily tips.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications/qualities:
-Previous commercial bread or doughnut making experience required;
-Organized and consistent with attention to detail and the ability to retain and recall information;
-Ability to follow production lists;
-Pro-active and able to think critically;
-Strong multitasking skills;
-Ability to work under pressure;
-Knowledge of proper food handling procedures;
-Food handlers certificate an asset;
-Great communication skills;
-Willing to work overnight (8pm – 11pm start time, 7-8 hour shifts);
-Loves (or strongly likes) doughnuts;
-Punctual and possesses a sense of urgency;
-Fun and positive attitude;
-Reliable, dependable, respectful and accepting of diversity;
-Other duties as required.

 

Doughnut Fryer

Doughnut fryers are responsible monitoring the proofing of the doughnuts and frying them when they are ready. Shifts start between 12:30 -1:30 am and are 7-8 hours in length. Doughnut fryers are responsible for finishing the doughnuts according to appearance and recipe standards (sugaring, specific cutting, etc), and cleaning duties as assigned. Doughnut fryers should be attentive, able to stand for long periods and have good communication skills. One part-time position (24-36 hours/week) available to start in mid-May at our 1194 Taylor Ave location. Potential for full time hours if interested in being cross trained. Successful applicants can join our benefit plan after 3 months (min 20 hours/week). Starting wage is $16/hour. Wage rate increases possible based on performance after first couple months of employment.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications/qualities:

-Organized and consistent with attention to detail and the ability to retain and recall information;
-Pro-active and able to think critically;

-Able to work closely in a team;
-Ability to work under pressure;
-Knowledge of proper food handling procedures;
-Food handlers certificate an asset;
-Previous experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting preferred;

-Punctual and possesses a sense of urgency;
-Fun and positive attitude;
-Reliable, dependable, respectful and accepting of diversity;
-Has own transportation.
